Joel McHale is a funny man

Yesterday, when everyone was posting clips from "The Soup," I was listening to an 11-month old podcast of The Nerdist, featuring, coincidentally, Joel McHale. Strangers were dodging me on the sidewalk on my way to and from work, since I was laughing uncontrollably for apparently no reason (hood up against the rain hiding my headphones). There were many, many genius moments, but this one killed me.

After his son Isaac’s birth, Joel’s wife wanted to have their first dinner as a family around the family dinner table. Isaac was in his carrier right at the table and Joel was trying to convince his son, Eddie (3 at the time) to eat. Eddie refused to eat at all, apparently getting all his nutrients and strength from photosynthesis.

 “So I was begging him to eat at one of many meals that I always beg him to eat and I was like ‘Eddie, two more bites of fish, buddy’ and he was like, ‘hm-nnn, hm-nn, nn-nn.’ ‘Eddie, two more bites of fish,’ ‘hm-nn, nn-nn, nn-nn,’ and then I was like, ‘Eddie, two more bites of fish,’ and he goes, ‘I don’t want to eat fish, I want to see Isaac’s penis.’

‘And then I realized, I could bargain.’

April will be my one year anniversary of my massive crush on Chris Hardwick. I can't believe I am actually going to see him live next Saturday.
