Something random, huh?
My niece and I arrived in Costa Rica around noon and after a very long wait in the passport control line, we found our driver. He was getting a bit anxious because the Costa Rican football team was arriving at the airport a short time later and the police were beginning to close down some of the streets. Not sure why, though. Maybe because there's were a lot of people gathering to greet the team and lining the roads where there bus would travel out of the airport? I'm sorry we had to miss that spectacle, but it was a three hour drive to our hotel in Monteverde and I can understand why he didn't want to get caught in crazy traffic.
Now my niece and I have settled into our room, have showered after a bit of exploring and are enjoying the late afternoon thunderstorm from our balcony. We have an early morning of cloud forest exploring and zip-lining, which will be my birthday gift to myself.

milly_gal, who made me the most amazing picspam, filled with pictures completely new to me. I loved it.
