Birthday wishes and fic recs
Nov. 7th, 2011 03:57 pmA few things:
A very happy birthday to
simplymarvie and early birthday greetings to
ignipes and
topaz119.
Qustion: I am absolutely sure that at some point I saw a really beautifully made fanvid set to OneRepublic's Marching On. But I can't find it. Anyone have a link?
Here are some fic recs, in which are represented some schmoop, some humor, and some angst.
Someone Else’s Story by Miss 'Drea (
placeofinsanity)
Author's summary: John gives the boys up for adoption, and at an early age Dean and Sam are separated then later adopted into two different families, in two different states. By a chance of Fate (whose name is Castiel) the two brothers find each other - Sam’s in 10th grade, the youngest in his class having skipped several grades, and Dean, also in 10th grade is his ‘penpal’. Dean thinks the whole thing is dumb, Sam’s just glad to have a friend.
My input: A story told mainly through art, and absolutely beautiful art it is. An intriguing, interesting idea that is lovingly executed.

Author's summary: Three and a half years after he first set eyes on Jared Padalecki and felt some integral part of his brain melt, Jensen finds out that Jared is into guys. Through Facebook. Prequel to:
Developments
Author's summary: Seriously, who besides little old ladies that are scared of their 'internet boxes' actually takes pictures on film anymore? Evidently, the answer is 'people who buy shitty one-time-use cameras on their tour of nude beaches'.
My input: Both were great stories, but Developments was a hoot!
Missing What You Never Wanted by
aythia
Author's summary: Mating is a well known phenomenon in the world, but with almost seven billion people in the world not many find their one true mate. And even if you do find your mate, it's not sure that said mate will appreciate being found.
My input: An emotionally intense story about two very different people bound together by sexual desire, but nothing else between them. The author does an amazing job showing how they work through their issues into a real relationship.
Night of the Living Dead by
ignipes
Author's summary: There is nothing worse than being up a tree without a flamethrower while surrounded by a horde of brain-eating zombies.
My input: "Hey, Sam? I want a flamethrower for Christmas." All I want for Christmas is more Sam/Dean v. Zombie fic that makes me laugh.

Author's summary: Jared isn't stalking Jensen. Not really. He just happens to be wherever Jensen is. It's a good thing, too; if he wasn't, he would miss things like this. Things like Jensen being wet. And that would be a shame.
My input: Best stalker fic, ever! Wait, is that a genre? If it isn't, it should be.
A very happy birthday to
