I did enjoy it, but...

there was a lot of filler.  Not quite this bad, but almost.




For me, the 48 FPS solved the problem of the blurring of action sequences in 3D, but the first 30 minutes or so in Hobbiton looked like it was happening on a set -- like those old video BBC adaptations of Jane Austen novels. Very disconcerting.
